1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Mesohead (mesohead.com), a free fan-made site for MapleStory Classic World players, run by an independent fan. By using Mesohead, or by signing in, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

2. Who may use Mesohead

You may use Mesohead if you are at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area). If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is fine with it. Using Mesohead is your choice; how you play, trade and share your screen is up to you and the game's own rules.

3. Accounts

• An account is optional. You sign in with Google or Facebook; one account is for one person.
• Keep your Google or Facebook account secure, and sign out on shared computers. You are responsible for what is done with your Mesohead account.
• We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or are used for abuse.
• You can delete your account at any time from the account menu (Delete my account).

4. Acceptable use

Use Mesohead the way a person normally browses a website. Please do not:

• scrape the site or access it with scripts, crawlers or other automated tools beyond normal browsing (search engines following our robots.txt are welcome),
• overload, disrupt or attack the site, or send it large numbers of requests,
• try to get around the price delay for visitors who are not signed in, rate limits or other limits, or share or sell your session,
• try to reach parts of the site meant only for its operators (admin pages and internal API routes), or test for security holes without our permission (if you found one, please tell us at contact@mesohead.com),
• sell, resell, license or republish Mesohead's prices, listings or item database, or use them to build a competing service (sharing a price or a link with friends is fine),
• send false Scan with me reads, spam, or anything unlawful or abusive, or use Mesohead to harass other players, or
• pretend to be someone else, or help anyone else do any of the above.

5. Prices, listings and accuracy

Prices, listings, shop locations, deal ratings and item details are for information only. They are collected from the Free Market and can be delayed, incomplete or wrong: a shop may have sold out, closed or changed its prices since it was seen, and the game itself can change. We do not guarantee that any information on Mesohead is accurate, complete or up to date. Decisions you make in the game, such as what to buy or sell and for how much, are yours alone. Mesohead does not take part in any trade and cannot help with disputes between players.

6. Not affiliated with Nexon

Mesohead is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Nexon. MapleStory is a trademark of NEXON. Game names, item names, icons and other game content belong to their owners and are used here only for fan and informational purposes. If you own content on the site and want it removed, write to contact@mesohead.com.

7. The item database

The item database is maintained by Mesohead. It was originally seeded from a snapshot of NiaMeowDB (meowdb.com), with thanks. Mesohead is not affiliated with NiaMeowDB, and NiaMeowDB is not responsible for Mesohead's data.

8. What you send us

When you contribute to Mesohead, for example shop reads through Scan with me, problem reports or other feedback, you keep whatever rights you have in it, and you give Mesohead a free, worldwide, non-exclusive, permanent licence to store, use, copy, change, combine, publish and display it to run, improve and promote Mesohead (for example, a shop read becomes part of the public price index). Please send only what you have the right to share. Personal data in what you send is handled as our Privacy Policy describes.

9. A free service that may change

Mesohead is free to use. We may add, change or remove features, limit access (for example, the price delay for visitors who are not signed in, or invite-only features), or stop the service, at any time and without notice, though we will try to give notice of big changes. If we ever offer paid features, they will come with clear terms before you pay anything.

10. No warranties

Mesohead is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises about the site, including that it will be available, secure, free of errors or fit for any particular purpose, or that its information is accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Mesohead and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using or not being able to use the site, or from relying on its information, including lost mesos, items or other in-game losses, lost data, lost profit, or any indirect or unforeseeable loss. Mesohead is for personal, non-commercial use, and we are not liable for any business loss.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Mesohead at any time, and delete your account from the account menu. We may suspend or end your access, block traffic, or delete an account, if you break these terms, if your use harms the site or other people, or if we stop the service. The sections that by their nature should continue (such as 5 to 8, 10, 11 and 14) still apply afterwards.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and, for important changes, show a notice on the site before they take effect. If you keep using Mesohead after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, please stop using it and delete your account.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of England and Wales, sitting in London. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you keep any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
